“Every volunteer hour at the Friendship Centre is a step toward healing, hope, and professional growth—for both the client and the counsellor.”

ABOUT US

Our Counsellors at the Friendship Centre

The counsellors at the Friendship Centre are dedicated professionals who generously donate their time, expertise, and technology resources to provide free counselling support to individuals, families, and children. Most counsellors are self-funded and usually balance this work alongside other employment, driven by a commitment to giving back to the community.

What do our volunteers receive as part of the team?

In return, counsellors benefit from a range of professional and personal development opportunities, including:

  • Accumulating professional counselling hours toward their career goals
  • Being part of a national network of counsellors
  • Receiving fortnightly support from an experienced team leader
  • Participating in monthly team training sessions
  • Accessing free group supervision with a qualified professional supervisor

This unique model allows counsellors to grow professionally, collaborate with a supportive team, and make a real difference in the lives of clients — all while contributing to a meaningful community service.
